Kalloori - Lyrics

Balaji Sakthivel's kalloori is very realistic film portraying friendship, love, emotions and fun of college life. His natural narration and brilliant screen play makes you feel living with characters. Joshua Sridhars remarkable music and Na. Muthukumar's poetic lyrics adds another dimension to the movie. Songs are penned and composed after shooting of sequences that made them perfect fit for situation.

June July naturally portrays strengthening of friendship, sharing of emotions, cheering of talents, solitariness during vacation and keenness to see them back.

IE Bookmarking Tip

There is a mode to quickly hit frequently accessed pages in IE. Mostly everyone bookmarks links that they visit often. When saving the bookmark, use mnemonic name (abbreviated letters) and merely entering bookmark name in address bar would direct to that page. As in picture below, I have saved Java Documentation as "jdocs" and I can just enter "jdocs" to visit it.

Smartly IE first looks up bookmarks for addressed text and shows it up.

Gmail Tip - Add attachments First

I love Gmail because of many of its brilliant features. Gmail uses AJAX technology and does its processing asynchronously allowing us to continue our work. I feel that AJAX itself gained  momentous popularity after its usher in with Gmail. Adding attachments first would make Gmail to do uploading aynchronously while we compose our mail and that saves time.

Pesugiren from Sathampodathe

This is my current favourite song. Combo of Yuvan's excellent music, Na Muthu kumar's wonderful lyrics and Neha bhasin's fabulous rendition have brought out a great song. Sax piece at first interlude and guitar at second interlude is just mellifluous.  Na Muthu lyrics is meaty and exhortative and here it is..

del.icio.us is delicious

del.icio.us is a social bookmarking website that helps to store bookmarks online and access them from anywhere. It offers lot more cool features and some of which l like are:

Bookmarks are open to public and sharing is pretty simple. Anyone can look at all my favourites at http://del.icio.us/e.rajasekar or my movie related favourites at http://del.icio.us/e.rajasekar/movie

If a bookmark is saved by multiple people, we can see list of people who have bookmarked that page and their tags. By looking at bookmarks of others who also saved same bookmark, we can easily discover related things.

We can easily watch for interests by subscribing to any tag or any users bookmarks.

We can manage network of other del.icio.us users and share a bookmark with them on single click. That will appear in links for you section of their del.icio.us.

Popular on del.icio.us lists whats popular among everyone and helps to know current hot things.

Browser Plug-ins are to available make adding and searching easier. Mozilla's plug-in is really cool and better than ie.

This video nicely demonstrates social bookmarking and del.icio.us

How To Design A Good API

I found this elucidative presentation on principles of designing a Good API. This is presented at Google Tech Talk by Joshua Bloch. Joshua is a Principal Engineer at Google and was former developer at Sun Microsystems. Some of the things are discussed in his Effective Java book which every Java programmer should read.
In fact I got US edition this book while in india. I wish if indian edition of this book also would also be available. Interestingly this video as recommendated by Google based on my browse history. Google is really cool...

Maayakannadi - Good intention and worth watching

Cheran is known for this realistic screen play and he had done it again in maayakannadi. This time he had choosen a city based story and portrayed himself as a romantic youth, It doesn't suit him well though. Illayaraja has done decent job in songs and background score. BGM used when cheran ponders on hopping job and imagiations running over his mind deserves credit. Although songs sound repetitious, its pleasing to listen. Song Konjam Konjam is elegantly picturised depicting how mobile utilized by today's lovers coupled with apposite lyrics by Pa.Vijay

Watch out commendable message conveyed through radha ravi in the movie.

Let me conclude with meaty lyrics of the song kaasu kaiyil written by kavingar Muthulingam.

Mozhi - Bouquet of Joy, Love , Humour and Emotion

After seeing rave reviews for mozhi, I was waiting for this movie to be released in tampa. It was fantastic. I can't pick if is it dialogue, screen play, acting, lyrics or music is best in the movie. All are superb. Dialogue writer viji has got good sense of humour. I liked his dialogues in Azhaghiya Theeye, Pooniyin Selvan, Ethiri. He proved again in Mozhi. Its long time since I had such a laughter while watching movie. Vairamuthu's lyrics embellishes the movie. All songs mould perfectly with situation. Here goes lyrics of the songs with my favourite lines in bold.

Prithivi sees Jo bashing a man who whaps his wife in the middle of the road and he falls in love for her. Dreamings of a musician and audacity of Jo are well portrayed in first song

sevvanam selai katti chendrathu veethiyile

i love you solla vaipen...kannodu kankalapene...oohoohoo, oohooho...
sevvanam...

Fortuitously, Prithivi finds Jo is same appartment as he lives and his exicitement evinced in this song

en jannalil therivadhu nilavu dhaana
naan saalayil tholaithadhu ivaLai dhaana
naan kaNdadhum kaaNbadhumkanavu dhaana
en kadavuLin mugavari edhiril dhaana
vaanil pOna peN pura maegam sendru theindhadhu
veetil vandhu paarththadhum
thOtta pullai meyindhadhu
veedhi pakkam pOnadhu vidhiyae kondu saerthadhu
kadaisi thagaval solludhu kaadhal ondru pookudhu
en jannalil therivadhu nilavu dhaana
naan saalayil tholaithadhu ivaLai dhaana

Privithi soon learns that Jo is deaf and dump, but his love only strengthens and is conveyed in cute lines

Aazha kannal tamil sonnaale...jaadai kondu bashai sonnaale...
Naavil mattum oonam yendrale...haiyyoohoo...

Mounmam ondrum oonam alla alla...vazhkai yellam mulumai alla alla...
aval mugame poothum mozhi solla solla...aa..aaa..aaa...

Wonderful lyrics of Kaartrin mozhi conveys motif of the movie. Its very well picturised in movie, depicting prithivi,jo,prakash, swarnamalya enjoying the life, Jo slowly starts realizing music and prithivi gets more familiar with sign language.

Jo becomes furious when Prithivi tells that he imagines a voice for her.
Privithi conjures to forgive him. SPB rocks in this song..

What is dream..?

Recently I came across following quote

Dream is not which comes in your sleep,
But which does not make you sleep.

Inventions are inventor’s envisioned dreams indeed.

Kudos to Maniratham for conveying analogous message in his recent movie GURU.

Head First Books

Couple of years back, I read "Sun Certified Programmer for Java" by Kathy & Bert and found it very interesting. I discovered that authors were founders of javaranch (become favourite site now). I found Head First Books while seeking for other books authored by them. I got Head First EJB and was pretty impressed. I was amazed to see how well they have presented a dry technical stuff as funny narration with copious visuals easily inculcating the concepts. They have pioneered new style of book writing and is enchanting the readers.

Forthwith I bought Head First Design patterns and it was astonishing. The best thing like about Head First Design Patters is the way each pattern is imparted. After stating the problem, they start doing usual design like a common programmer and reveal its cons. Then introduce the pattern and explain how it can be applied to produce efficacious solution. This helps better realization of its benefits. Apt problem choosen for each pattern and relevant examples from Java API facilitates recognition of pattern in real world. For illustration, excerpt for decorator pattern is available from oreilly .

I also liked Head First JSPs and Servlets. Happy to see its continuing with Head First Object-Oriented Analysis and Design being recently published.

Astrosoft - My Astrology Software

I have been developing a astrology software which provides horoscope details given birth data. Its available for free download at http://astrosoft.sourceforge.net/ . It will be more helpful astrologers and astrology learners for prediction than lay astrology followers.

My father is an astrologer and I intended to develop a software to aid him in analysis and prediction. My avid for programming and Java made me to work on it persistently during my leisure time. At times, I use it as a channel to try out new things I study that I can't do it in my job.

Ok...try out the software and let me know your feedback.

Hello World !

I have been reading blogs for long time and wanting to start mine for quite sometime.

Let me start with usual intro, I am Rajasekar, Software Engineer born and raised in Tamil Nadu, India and currently working in Florida, USA.

My Passions are Programming, Java (its bread and butter for me), Music, Books, and Astrology.I will write about all these things. I will also share memorable happenings in my life and interesting information I find.
